The county government has allocated Sh140 million for renovation of roads.

Roads and Infrastructure Executive Joseph Shuel said part of the money will be used to seal potholes on tarmac roads in Nanyuki, Nyahururu, Rumuruti and Kinamba towns.

Mr Shuel said road works in Nanyuki will start next week with the 500m Lenana-Ukumbusho loop which links the town to the army barracks.

In Nyahururu, the work has started at the main bus park.

Shuel said some of the roads would be upgraded to bitumen standards.
