Nyeri County will host this year’s annual congress of chairpersons of Constitutional Commissions and holders of independent offices.

The conference will be held at a local hotel between December 6 and 7.

Chairperson of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights Kagwiria Mbogori met with Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga to highlight objectives of the conference.

Mbogori said the conference will provide a platform to evaluate successes and challenges of constitutional offices in the first five years of devolution.

“The theme of the conference is Devolution; the gains, challenges and lessons,” Mbogori said.

The governor welcomed the decision to hold it in Nyeri.

“We are happy you have picked Nyeri as your destination of choice as it will offer a unique opportunity for residents to interact with leaders,” Kahiga said.
