Homa Bay County Senator Moses Kajwang was bashed by some National Super Alliance supporters after he was pictured with a contingent of Jubilee legislators as they waited for Supreme Court judgment on Monday morning.

Kajwang was in the company of Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, Samburu legislator Naisula Lesuuda, nominated legislator Isaac Mwaura, and Murangá County Senator Irungu Kangata and many others.

While some lauded the gathering as inclusive and acting as a good example for the citizens in overcoming political party affiliation and tribalism, there are those who chided the senator as someone who was ‘celebrating’ the Supreme Court ruling that upheld the October 26 Election.

While responding to the post and criticism from NASA supporters, Mr Kaljwang responded by saying that he was in a planned meeting with other legislators but not a political grouping aimed at ‘celebrating’ Supreme Court outcome.

“In the course of Parliamentary duties, I will always find myself in a room with members of Jubilee. This was the case when we had a meeting of Young Parliamentarians on Monday,” Kajwang posted on his Facebook page. He termed the allegations as merely fake news.

Plans are underway to swear in President Uhuru Kenyatta after the Supreme Court verdict which upheld his election of October 26. NASA on the other hand has maintained that they do not recognize his win as legitimate.
