Uchumi, Mumias postpone release of financial statements to November

NAIROBI, KENYA: Mumias and Uchumi have announced postponement in release of annual financial statement to mid and late October.

In a paid up newspaper advertisement said the announcement of financial results for the period ended June 30 will delay by one month to November 30. “This step is to allow the company enough time to finalise aspects of the audit process with lenders and the government before communicating the results to the shareholders and general public,” said Kennedy Mulwa, Chairman, Board of Directors.

Retail Chain Uchumi on the other hand said the approval and publishing of the results for the year ended June 30 will be delayed to November 15.

‘Uchumi Supermarkets notifies shareholders and investing public that due to delays in receipt of some confirmations required to facilitate completion of the audit process, the approval and publishing of results for the year ended June 30 will be delayed.”

The notices are pursuant to regulations by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA).
