This is where the rain began to beat Raila Odinga and the whole of NASA

That Jubilee Party has a commanding majority in terms of representation at every given electoral level is in no doubt.

This situation has caused lots of jitters for the Opposition. However, what National Super Alliance (NASA) affiliate parties must ask is, where did the rain begin to beat them?

The obvious answer is that it all went wrong at the party nominations stage. It was very sad to see open undemocratic and dictatorial tendencies advanced by NASA parties.

In other sad instances, it was alleged that very unpopular candidates paid handsomely to secure nomination certificates.

In some places, party machinery orchestrated a 'no-voting' situation where perceived popular aspirants enjoyed overwhelming support so that they lost.

In a nutshell, NASA did all it could to hoodwink the public that it was conducting nominations which, however, had predetermined results.

The consequence was a painful and terrible loss to Jubilee, whose top leaders chose to stay away from the nominations and let the people decide.
