The era of fake news is here yet again. Being averagely one month to the repeat presidential poll, a lot of propaganda and false information is spreading quite fast.

On Wednesday 13, 2017 a bogus memo purporting a scheduled meeting at the Supreme Court circulated on social media platforms.

Rumours had it that the meeting was to involve three Supreme Court Judges, namely; Njoki Ndungu, Ibrahim Mohamed and Ojwang' who were to make a statement claiming that their colleagues had been bribed to rule in favour of the National Super Alliance (NASA).

“Evening! Something of its kind will happen at Supreme Court tomorrow at 9:00am. Another one at Boulevard Hotel at 12:45pm. Just send your crew and thank me later. Goodnight,” the memo read.

The same day, a fake tweet purpotedly posted by KTN News did rounds on social media, allegedly confirming the resignation of National Super Alliance Co-Principal Musalia Mudavadi from the coalition.

Earlier in the day, a false statement was also circulated, indicating Musalia Mudavadi had resigned as a NASA Principal and supporter of the change coalition.

On September 10, 2017 another fake memo alluded that Jubilee Party's Secretary General Raphael Tuju had called on President Uhuru supporters to back IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba on the grounds that Opposition was hell bent on making sure that he (Chiloba) is kicked out of IEBC.

“If that happens, then be rest assured that we will lose the upcoming October 17 Election. Chiloba is crucial and his support is very instrumental to our operation UhuRuto tano tena,” read a section of the statement.
