I will never step aside for Sonko, Peter Kenneth insists

Following calls for his resignation, Nairobi Governor aspirant Peter Kenneth has denied claims that he is out to split Jubilee votes. Kenneth, who was on a meet-the-people tour in Nairobi’s Central Business District, said he is not out to split votes as alluded to by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Let no one convince you that I will split votes or that I am on a mission to divide people along ethnic lines,” he said.

Kenneth said everyone had a single vote and there was no logic in saying he was splitting the votes.

“There is no way I can divide a vote yet everyone can only vote once. I simply do not understand this theory, “he said.

Kenneth added that neither incumbent Evans Kidero nor Sonko would win the polls if they are banking on tribal allegiance.

“My running mate is actually from a different tribe, which holds a large chunk of Nairobi voters so Kidero will lose out on their votes,” he said.[Nasibo Kabale]
