The Government has ordered the installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems in all critical public and business facilities to enhance security and curb rising crime in Mombasa.
County Commissioner Evans Achoki said key areas such as shopping malls, the airport, public beaches, night clubs and bus stops were under 24-hour police surveillance but maintained that the installation of CCTV cameras would boost security operations.
He praised private security firms for their efforts in fighting crime.
