Opinion: Do you believe our political parties are ideologically driven?

Our political parties have ideologies but their leaders have chosen not to articulate them. The ideologies are crafted by professionals. I am sure that in the ideologies, there are issues that need to be articulated.

For example, in the US elections, parties own issues. The Republicans are associated with businesses while Democrats are known for championing the welfare of every citizen.

It is disappointing that in Kenya, party leaders have refused to tell Kenyans what issues are contained in their manifestos, but instead, they are manipulating wananchi for them to win power.

They know that wananchi are vulnerable. The voters should stop blindly listening to the politicians and instead demand that they address key issues that will benefit the public.

The politicians are not sincere about what they are saying, and what is occupying their minds is to be in power to benefit individually.

Their political arguments and persuasion are not founded on strong interests for wananchi. After NASA and Jubilee launched their manifestos, Kenyans should point out to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga that they focus on issues and not name-calling.

Kenyans are interested in knowing what each political wing will do to promote education, national cohesion, employment, high cost of living, research in universities and many other key issues affecting their lives.

They shouldn't let leaders just joke around with them and incite them against their fellow Kenyans for their selfish interests.
