Nemanja Matic is closing in on a big-money move to Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho wants to bring in his former midfielder and will fork out £35million to do so.

The United boss re-signed Matic for Chelsea for £22million in January 2014 and the Serb has led the club to two Premier League titles.

With Chelsea close to tying up a deal for Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko, Matic is set to head for the exit.

Personal terms are understood to have been agreed between United and Matic, with a four-year deal worth £150,000-a-week on offer.

Matic is set to become Mourinho’s second summer signing following the arrival of Victor Lindelof from Benfica.

Fabinho had been mooted as a possible target but the United boss has opted to pursue the tried and tested Matic.
