Zetech University ended the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's Premier League first leg with a 59-51 loss to Umoja at Nyayo gymnasium.

The university's women team defeated Strathmore University 63-50. For Umoja, they are on a roll. They have won their third match on the trot.

Umoja were having tough times in the league before former Co-operative Bank's marksman Allan Ouma came calling and helped steady their ship. His arrival was timely no doubt. Their turnaround was all but confirmed.

"Ouma has been instrumental for Umoja. We haven't lost since he joined us. We hope to carry on with the same momentum in the second leg," Umoja head coach Martin Okwako said. [Erick Ochieng]
