So far, so good for Kenyan clubs that are here for the SportPesa Super Cup football tournament.

The good run has seen three of the four clubs that travelled for the contest qualify for today’s semifinals.

Kenyan Premier League’s second most successful club, AFC Leopards, will play Tanzanian Premier League (TPL) champions Yanga from 2pm.

Leopards head into this match with a boosted confidence following the arrival of their new head coach, Dorian Marin.

The Romanian-born tactician arrived on Monday night and held his first training session with Ingwe on Tuesday and yesterday, ahead of his first assignment today.

“From the brief training, I can tell AFC players are weak in set-pieces. I have introduced them to a new game plan, which should help them beat Yanga, but this will take time to be perfected,” Marian said.

Yanga captain Nadir ‘Canavaro’ Haroun has warned AFC to be ready for the challenge.

“Our team has a mixture of young and senior players, who are disciplined and committed to teamwork. We had good preparations and our unity also helped us. AFC should expect good football,” Haroun said.

Meanwhile, Nakuru All Stars coach George Maina said they will go for short and crisp passes against Gor Mahia in the second semi.

Maina, who was elated after they eliminated Tanzania’s Simba 5-4 on post match penalties, is confident of winning the title and playing English Premier League side Everton on July 13.

“We want to frustrate Gor early in the game,” Maina said.
