Artistes gather at KICC for historic moment with a message of peace and unity.

Kenyan celebrities turned up for the Madaraka Express, Kenyan for Kenyans concert with a message of peace and unity.

The concert convened by Sports, Arts and Culture CS Hassan Wario was the apex of the over five-hour journey from Mombasa in the newly unveiled passenger train from Miritini in Mombasa, with passengers who included President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“The SGR is a project for the future and you are the future, this is the reason I have come here to celebrate with you,” said Deputy President William Ruto, who also graced the concert.

Mr Ruto joined the artistes in dance to celebrate the newly launched Standard Gauge Railway project shortly after disembarking from Makadara Express at Syokimau.
