For the second consecutive year, NIC Bank T20 cricket champions were decided off field after heavy downpour in Mombasa made the field unplayable.

Last year, Coast Gymkhana and Mombasa Sports Club were declared joint winners after the wicket was rained off. This year, Coast Gymkhana and Shree Cutchi Leva were also declared joint winners without breaking a sweat.

The skies opened up after brief spells of sunshine, which gave the teams some false hope. Coast Gymkhana batted first and stood at 41/3 in the eighth over when the heavens opened up.

The umpires and groundsmen did their best, but in vain. As the match ended with no result, both teams were declared Joint winners and shared the Sh175,000 prize money.
