Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama wins the Best of Africa role model award

Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama has won a Best of Africa role model award.

Wanyama collected his award alongside model Tidiou M'Baye at the Rosewood Hotel.

Previous winners of the award include Yaya Toure, Didier Drogba, Odion Ighalo and Alex Song.

Kenyan international Victor Wanyama joined Spurs from Southampton last summer and has established himself as a key member of Mauricio Pochettino's side to become one of the best African players in the Premier League.

"I am honoured to win an award for my work helping disadvantaged children in Kenya,” said the 25-year-old football star.
