“Leave President Uhuru out of this”- Blame game as Mike Sonko and Peter Kenneth cast their votes

Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirants: Mike Mbuvi Sonko casts his vote at Bidii primary school and

Peter Kenneth at Bahati primary school

Gubernatorial aspirant Mike Sonko has said that if he feels the Nairobi Jubilee primaries are unfair,  he will find an alternative avenue to be in ballot come August  8th 2017 .

He was saying this after casting his vote at Bidii Primary in Buruburu where he was accompanied by his supporters.

When asked by a journalist about his relationship with President and whether he had his support, the senator said there was no need to bring president into the issue, “ … he is okay”  he finished

“I did not find my name in the register and my wife’s name too was missing- But the officer ultimately allowed me to vote” he said

The Senator as well expressed his concern about the Jubilee voter’s list an issue that had been raised by several Jubilee aspirants. “The chair of National elections Board yesterday said that if your name is missing on party register they’ll use the IEBC register, but that  is not yet updated,”  he  said

Earlier on, his competitor Peter Kenneth had cast his vote at Bahati Primary where  he had also complained that election officials were not sticking to the Jubilee set regulations. He pointed out the electoral glitches but hoped it would be looked into.

He said supporters of the party had not been allowed to vote even though they had done so in the past in same voting centers.

With voting still going on around Nairobi, we can only wait to see how the day  ends as the two aspirants battle it out for a Jubilee ticket .
