Just as Jubilee Party primaries failed to take place in Uasin Gishu County evoking heated emotions among aspirants, Solomon Kiptarbei Maritim, a gubernatorial aspirant has lost his father.

Kiptarbei popularly known for his humble campaign in which he has been riding his bicycle to reach out to voters, told Sunday Standard that his father passed on Thursday night at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH).

“I was gearing up for Friday’s party primaries with the hope that I would clinch the ticket after concluding the campaigns on Wednesday, but unfortunately as I was strategising on monitoring the voting stations with my agents I received the news that my father had passed on,” said Kiptarbei.
