Five people die in Nakuru, as other six perish in Rui road accident

Five people lost their lives in Nakuru through a tragic road accident that occurred on Sunday morning as other six businessmen died in Rui road accident.

In the first accident that happened very early in the morning near the Gilgil weighbridge, three people died on the spot while one died shortly after arriving at Gilgil Sub-county Hospital. The accident involved a saloon car and a lorry.

According to eye witnesses, the saloon car was overtaking another saloon car before it met head-on with a lorry that ferrying plastic materials to Kisumu.

The second accident happened a few meters from the first one several hours after the first one. The latest one involved two trailers, killing one driver on the spot.One of the trailers was headed to Western and the other one to Mombasa.

Elsewhere six people were killed on Rui road when the car they were travelling in was crushed by a trailer that was travelling to Thika.

The six had gone to attend a graduation ceremony at Bukura Agricultural Institute at Kakamega before they travelled back to Kangundo.The crushed car is said to have taken a wrong route before the driver made a U-turn and meeting head on with the trailer.

 The only survivor was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital where he was admitted to ICU on arrival. The six who perished were businessmen.
