Joho reveals why he is always at war with President Uhuru

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has finally revealed why he is always at Loggerhead with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Addressing Mombasa residents on Monday Joho said that he is not out to shame the President, rather he is out to correct some of the wrongs done by the Jubilee administration.

He father said that what he was doing was not meant to give him a political mileage as perceived by some people, but it is meant to ensure that Mombasa residents benefit from the promises made to them by the current regime.

According to him his trouble with the president began when he tried to address Waitiki farm issue.

Joho in an effort to question the government why the squatters who were allocated the Waitiki farm by the government were being asked to pay for the title deeds after the government had paid the owner of the land Mr. Evarson Waitiki the required amount created a rift between him and the president.

Joho said that the land was already paid for by the government and it was upto the government to ensure that after the subdivision of the land the squatters were given their title deeds.

Also, the Mombasa Governor said that by him opposing the relocation of the dry port from Voi to Naivasha has jeopardised his relationship with the president.

He further said that it is clear that the Kibaki regime had decided to build the dry port in Voi and not Naivasha as proposed by the Jubilee administration.

He said that by so doing they will deny many youths from the region employment opportunities.Secondly he said it will cut on expenditure used on transport as Voi is near Mombasa.

Thirdly Joho said that by him pressurising the government to fulfill some of the promises they made to coast residents before ascending to power has put him in bad books with the president.

The Mombasa chief also added that they are not in good terms with President Uhuru because he lacks respect for him as the governor of Mombasa.

According to him, he should be accorded respect as an elected leader who represents Mombasa residents.

Lastly, he said by him telling the Mombasa residents that some of the projects the president was launching was not an initiative of the national government has angered the president.

However, Joho said that he respect the president and he has no personal grudge against him.
