Kenya Commercial Bank coach Curtis Olago says he is not worried after seeing the former Kenya Cup champions' unbeaten run come to an abrupt end last Saturday.

The league leaders suffered a 33-24 defeat at the hands of fourth-placed Homeboyz at the KCB Sports Club, to lose their 12-game unbeaten run this season.

It was the Deejays' first ever victory in Ruaraka since they joined Kenya Cup in 2013.

However, the defeat didn't affect the bankers' position on the log as they are still sitting at the top of the table with 52 points, three ahead of second-placed Kenya Harlequin.

But according to Olago, there is no need to panic after their first season loss as Homeboyz were a better side and deserved to win.

"Going 12 matches unbeaten is an achievement by itself. When we were winning, others were loosing but I don't understand why our first loss of the season has become a big deal. We should give credit where it's due. Fact is, Homeboyz was the better team and they fully deserved to win," Olago told Feverpitch.

"Homeboyz just played well and dominated all departments. We committed many errors and that's exactly how they won it. They wanted it and won it. So, they deserved it. That's the nature of the game; you win some, lose some and draw some."

However, Olago believes the Homeboyz defeat was a timely wake-up call for his team ahead of their remaining tricky four matches.

"It was a wake-up call for us. We needed such a result to comeback stronger in our next matches. There are some mistakes we saw, so we hope to use this free weekend to rectify them. I believe we will bounce back against Nondiescript," he said.

Asked about their slim three point-gap at the top, Olago said: "The points' gap doesn't worry me at all. I am not concerned with the table, but just looking at playing well and winning all our remaining four matches. We have a different strategy for the play-offs."

The bankers will face struggling Nondiescript in their next match on March 4, seven days before traveling to Ngong Road to take on last year's losing finalists Impala RFC.

They will then cross over to Impala's rivals Kenya Harlequins on March 18 before wrapping up their race to play-offs with a clash against visiting Mwamba on March 25.
