Doctors' strike: It is absurd, illegal and unfair to use patients' lives as a bargaining tool

The core indicator of the development of a country is the ability to offer access to health, education and transport services.

Health and education are pertinent to the public because they serve all citizens. As a patriotic Kenyan, one will definitely be saddened by the persistent doctors' agitations that have enveloped the entire country.

The strike should be looked at not only from a legal perspective but also a humanitarian angle.

The strike has been termed illegal by the court. It is absurd, illegal and unfair to use patients' lives as a bargaining tool.

Nevertheless, the strike is not only focused on a wage dispute but also amending health services through the provision of facilities, equipment and improved conditions.
