The battle for Nairobi 2017.

The city of Nairobi is attracting all manner of people to vie for the governorship. As the voters it may be hard to tell whether the aspirants are in it for power, the money, fame, will to implement changes or as a spring board for the highest political office in future or maybe even as a crowning feather in their political journey.

Only God and the aspirants themselves can really tell which of the above factors is driving them.

However as voters, we still have to vote in someone. It is said the best candidate usually never runs for office so we will have to settle for the second best candidate. Miguna, Sakaja, Kidero, Passaris, Mike,Margaret,Kenneth are all walking around trying to prove their mettle and worth to the electorate.

However as a member of this great county I wold like to advise all voters to choose our next governor wisely.Let us not resort to petty tribalism and non-issues but aim to elect someone who can really bring some much needed positive change in the city.I for one would propose only two agendas to the aspirants that I believe will bring the most significant change in the city across the board.

Sort out garbage collection and partner with the private sector to create clean and free green spaces/parks all over Nairobi.I believe the candidate who does this will bring the much needed fresh air to the county.

Who knows a clean county might just be what is needed for Nairobians to pick up the mantle themselves and rid us of the mental dirt of corruption that has proven quite invasive more so in the past few years.Vote wisely, for your vote counts.
