FOOTBALL: Lamu to host East Africa beach tournament

Lamu County will next month host a four-nation East Africa beach football tournament.

Football Kenya Federation beach football committee chairman Raphael Mwalungo said Lamu County Government will host the tournament from December 8-12.

Malindi were last year’s hosts and Mwalungo said Lamu Governor Issa Timamy has confirmed they will host the tournament next month.

“All participants have confirmed participation. Other countries are Tanzania, Uganda and Zanzibar,” said Mwalungo, who is also the Coast NEC member.

He said they have invited Ghana as guests, but are yet to confirm their availability. “We have invited Ghana, but are yet to confirm,” he said.
