New Ford Kenya leaders endorse merger with TNA, URP

BUNGOMA, KENYA: Several New Ford Kenya delegates have endorsed the recent move by Governor Ken Lusaka to merge the party with TNA, URP and other political parties.

Speaking to the press in Webuye Guest House, the delegates led by Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa said that the new development would foster national unity by creating an issue-based political movement away from the usual tribal, self-centered political outfits.

The delegates, made up of 264 former councilors, 35 serving MCAs, aspirants of different political seats, scholars, elders and religious leaders, observed that the New Ford Kenya members in Bungoma have no problem with the move, stating that those criticising it are actually not party members.

"We totally support the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta, William Ruto and Governor Ken Lusaka in the 2017 elections," said Majimbo Kalasinga of Kabuchai.

This position was echoed by New Ford Kenya Chairman Bungoma County Martin Nyongesa, Mulunda Khaoya of Kanduyi and Milka Kemei from Kapkateny.

Also present in the grand meeting were Bungoma County Woman Representative Dr Reginalda Wanyonyi, Webuye West legislator Dan Wanyama and Bumula MP, Bonface Otsyula.

"We have rallied behind the new political alignment because it is a wise move and in the best interest of our people," said Mr Otsyula.
