About 200,000 staff hired by the Kenya National Examination Council (Knec) to administer last year’s tests will be paid starting today.
The Knec board met yesterday and approved a list of names to be paid, ending the long wait for the Sh1.2 billion payout. Sources at the board told The Standard that the payment of the contract fees was delayed because of verification. “The verification process took so long and it was important that we knew who we are paying the money to. It was for a good cause,” said a member of the board.
