Misuse of public funds in Kisumu county inexcusable

I concur with Prof Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o that something needs to be done to address governance and management issues in Kisumu County, even if it means change of leadership.

The state of roads, some of which are managed by the county government, is disheartening.

For instance, the state of bridges across Othith and Aoch Gwen streams in South West Nyakach Ward are in a pathetic state despite recent repairs. The workmanship displayed at the two bridges and the money spent on it smacks of corruption.

Some of us who were born in Kisumu and have had the opportunity to work and witness how devolution and CDF funds have changed infrastructure in places like some parts of Central Kenya surely feel that something is seriously wrong at home.
