Why the government should withdaw the decision to close down schools

The decision by government to order closure of both private secondary and primary schools is not fair to our children. What are the effects of that decision on the children? Third term is one of the shortest terms and closing schools may mean that they will reopen come next year January.

Although candidates students are spared time to prepare for exams, the remaining lot is going to reap more negative effects of the teachers strike. Furthermore having students strolling in towns and villages will also be risky. Boys will be on a drinking spree. Who will protect our vulnerable girls from sex thirsty men?

Parents are now required to strictly monitor their sons and daughters lest they mess up never to be seen in schools again in the event that the schools reopen.

Private schools should have been spared from the decision by the government to close all school. Their activities are not interfering with any government effort to curb the strike of teachers in public schools.

Teachers on the other hand should be sincere and humane enough to think about the children and reconsider their stand.

In addition as a country we should not trade politics in crucial matters like education. The issue about the opposition and government bracing for supremacy in the whole matter is unnecessary
