Nairobi,Kenya: Survivors of the Garissa University College terrorism attack have received wheelchairs and adjustable crutches.

The survivors, most of whom are admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital, got the aid from the National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).

NCPWD Chairman David ole Sankok condemned the attack saying it was regretful for the country to have lost many young people to terrorists.

"We condemn what happened at the Garissa University and we are here to pray, encourage and wish our brothers and sisters quick recovery," said Dr Sankok.

He told Kenyans not to fall for the Al-Shabaab militants' trick of dividing Kenyans along religious lines.

"We know their intention is to divide us but as Kenyans, let us stand united at all costs," he said.

He noted that in Mogadishu, the militia killed 47 medical graduates all of whom were Muslims adding that in Kenya, they attack Christians and spare Muslims so that Kenyans can start a religious war.

NCPWD Executive Director Mohamed Gabbow also condemned the merciless attack on the students.

The council donated two motorised wheelchairs at the cost of over Sh500,000.
