Facebook has confirmed you will now be able to send cash to friends through the social network's Messenger mobile app.
The new feature lets you add a debit card to the app and instantly transfer money through conversations.
It works in the same way as you would share a photo with a friend - making it easy to pay mates for tickets or contribute towards a group present.
Facebook has explained that it already processes one million transactions each day through gamers and advertisers using the social network.

And the company has been quick to address any fears over security.
"We use secure systems that encrypt the connection between you and Facebook as well as your card information when you ask us to store it for you," the company states.
"These payment systems are kept in a secured environment that is separate from other parts of the Facebook network and that receive additional monitoring and control. A team of anti-fraud specialists monitor for suspicious purchase activity to help keep accounts safe."
