Big blow to ODM as three officials decamp to New Ford-Kenya

Kenya: Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party on Friday suffered a major blow after three Bungoma branch officials decamped to New Ford-Kenya (NFK) party headed by Mr.Eugene Wamalwa.

The three officials, Fabian Khaemba the immediate former ODM organizing secretary Bungoma County, Mr.Kikete Mung'au, the Bumula constituency ODM- chairman and Mrs Judith Rombosia an ODM delegate in the County announced that they had quit their leadership positions in ODM and joined the new Ford-Kenya party.

Speaking in Bungoma town on Friday, the trio said they had decided to quit ODM citing lack of democracy and visionary leadership in the party's top organ.

"We have decided to quit the party that we have been supporting for years and toiled to see it grow because it is no longer viable especially in this region,"said Kikete .

Khaemba said their move to join New Ford -Kenya party had been informed by the fact that it was the most popular party in the region and were going to support governor Kenneth Lusaka because he has the locals agenda at heart.

"We want to work closely with the governor's party for the sake of development of our region, he cares for us all but ODM has forgotten us despite being loyal to it," said Khaemba.

Bungoma governor Kenneth Lusaka hails from the New Ford-Kenya party.

The trio were received by the New Ford Kenya Bungoma branch chairman Martin Nyongesa pointing out that his party had started a massive grass root campaign to ensure best performance in the next general elections.

"This is just the beginning, we are on a grass root drive that will ensure that no other party penetrates in Bungoma ," he said.
