Woman killed over Sh20 cigarette row

Grief gripped Katolong'ot village in Mogotio after a 23-year-old woman was stabbed to death by a man over a Sh20 cigarette payment row.

Witnesses said the suspect, Jackson Kipkemoi, 29, went to the deceased Abiba Nakucha's kiosk and asked for a cigarette but refused to pay - sparking off a bitter exchange of words.

As the argument ensued, Kipkemoi allegedly left the kiosk only to return a few minutes later with a knife which he used to stab Nakucha in the chest killing her on the spot.

OCPD Patrick Nyangaresi said police nabbed the suspect and he is now at Mogotio Police station while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
