Apologies to Tinga, but let's celebrate his statesmanship

I am writing to commiserate with former Prime Minister Tinga following his assault somewhere in the Coast.

If the people of Kwale have not considered it, they must organise a party to visit Tinga and offer their apologies for the humiliation.

Although it is not clear why the man in question, Lengo Mudzomba, decided to thump Tinga and Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, or even why he picked them from the dignitaries who were busy dancing, Tinga must be protected, now and in the future.

Talking of protection, one must wonder where the provincial administration was when Tinga needed them. But again, Coast authorities have a tendency of treating Tinga casually, even when he was in power.

RED CARPETS

For those who may have forgotten, Tinga once complained about protocol lapses when provincial bosses tended to give his Coast tours a wide berth and wouldn’t bother providing facilities befitting his status such as red carpets and toilets.

Now that Tinga is no longer in power, this is when he needs our support the most, lest he questions our loyalty to him.

So I say to him: Pole Baba, I feel your pain but also rejoice in your magnanimity for forgiving the man who caned you. That’s a great sign of his statesmanship.
