Nairobi, Kenya: KBC has received orders stopping other channels from broadcasting the World Cup matches taking place in  Brazil.

Judge Eric Ogola gave the orders to stop Pan-Africa Network group, Star Times and Mwananchi Group from broadcasting World Cup matches in the country.

KBC told the court that they have a contract with FIFA to be the sole broadcaster of tournament in the country but any other broadcaster doing so was infringing their rights.

Through Ogeto and Company advocates, KBC said they will lose billions of money in terms of commercial if other broadcasters were not stopped.

The court decision means that TV viewers will only be able to watch free-to-air channels (analogue) platform from KBC pending an intepartes hearing on June 16.
