Hopeless City Hoppa crew

The management of City Hoppa and the police may want to know this. One of the City Hoppa buses, which plies the Rongai route is hopping in the wrong direction, according to a commuter Njoroge Wa Chege.

Mr Njoroge (who has the registration of the bus) alleges the vehicle, in is his unprofessional assessment, and is unroadworthy.

But that doesn’t bother him much. What bothers him are touts who he claims collude with unscrupulous people to fleece innocent Kenyans “by claiming lower fares and suddenly hiking them once the passengers have boarded the bus”.  Brave passengers who dare to protest, he says, are confronted rudely. Chege’s contact is [email protected].

Another committed commuter, Jeckonia Otieno, is unhappy with matatus that use  Ngong Road. He accuses the crews of some these matatus of defrauding passengers without batting an eyelid

“In the city, they have this person screaming a price–say Sh80 to Ngong–but once the vehicle is outside town, the conductors who, most of the time, are never in uniform hike the price with impunity.” Otieno is pleading with matatu saccos on Route 111 to end this pocket-denting ‘petty theft’.
