Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has been re-elected as Deputy President of the Commonwealth Trade Union Group (CTUG) for a two-year term.
His re-election took place during CTUG’s annual meeting held at the International Labour Organization (ILO) Conference.
Atwoli, who was first elected to the position in June 2023, will continue to represent over 70 million workers from more than 40 countries.
“I am deeply honoured to have been re-elected to this important position,” said Atwoli.
“CTUG continues to be a powerful voice for workers across the Commonwealth, and I remain committed to ensuring that the concerns and aspirations of our members are heard at the highest levels of decision-making.”
CTUG is a trade union voice within the Commonwealth which began as the Commonwealth Trade Union Council (CTUC) in 1979 before being renamed in 2004.
