The fate of three women who robbed a man now will be determined by a Nairobi court following accusations that they assaulted a man.
Emily Gacheri, 29, Alice Wangari, 26, and Elizabeth Wanjiru, 39, were accused of robbing Leonard Kosgey Kimutai of two mobile phones and Sh50,000.
The court heard that the incident occurred on February 18 at Pipeline estate.
Police said the accused, who left the complainant with injuries, were commercial sex workers operating in the city centre.
Kosgey, 33, a house agent in the area, told police he was on his way home after collecting rent from tenants when he was attacked at around 8.30pm near Tumaini.
Police said the women tore the complainant’s trousers as they fought for the cash after injuring Kosgey in the head, shoulders and knees.
A man who was passing reportedly rescued Kosgey and accompanied him to the police.
The three denied the charges and were released on Sh100,000 bond each. The case is set for May 6.
