Health Executive Charles Githinji has warned medics against doing private business

Health workers operating private businesses during working hours have been put on notice.

Health Executive Charles Githinji said action will be taken against medics who abandon their official duty so as to transact private business at their clinics.

Speaking during the launch of Karen Hospital Karatina branch yesterday, Dr Githinji said the government will only allow medics to engage in private practise after official working hours and holidays.

"We cannot allow them to take a government salary when they give all their time and energy to private businesses. Action will be taken against those who skip work to engage in private practise," he said.
