In pictures: Scene of blast at Pangani police station

The scene at Pangani Police Station where a vehicle believed to have been rigged with an improvised explosive device exploded. The vehicle was intercepted by police at a nearby roadblock after it was spotted driving on the wrong side of the road.

When officers tried to question the occupants, they did not get a satisfactory response so they commandeered the vehicle so as to escort it to the police station as a patrol vehicle followed behind. The occupants of the vehicle were two men, according to police.
