Six men have landed in trouble for allegedly disturbing mourners within Ruaraka area on October 2, 2016.
Alfred Okoth, Francis Oduor, Gideon Ouma, Joshua Ogonga among others not before the court, allegedly carried a panga, four knives and a metal bar to commit a felony.
According to the prosecution, the accused took advantage of a funeral to terrorise the public. Police on patrol were notified and arrested 30 suspects, but the six were found with weapons after a search.
They denied the charges and asked the court for lenient bond terms, arguing that: “We were also mourning the death of our friend who had passed on and do not understand why the police arrested us.”
They were released on a cash bail of Sh30,000 each. The case will be heard on January 30, 2017.
