Benzema dashes Man United's hopes, hails new Man United boss Mourinho

Karim Benzema has dashed Jose Mourinho’s hopes of bringing him to Manchester United.

Real Madrid striker Benzema, 28, is one of the big names on new Old Trafford chief Mourinho’s transfer wishlist.

The pair worked together during Mourinho’s three years in charge at the Bernabeu and Benzema hailed the Portuguese boss as “special.”

When asked about the rumours linking him with a move to Old Trafford, Benzema told Marca: “Mou was something special. It did not go well at first, then better, with ups and downs.

“I’m not the same player now as then I was younger. But hey, no club makes me dream like Real Madrid.”

But the Frenchman insists he is already at the club of his dreams and has no plans to leave the European champions.

He added: “I always say I’m at the best club in the world, with the stadium, the fans, with a very demanding level of playing, with the best players in the world.
