Reports: Manchester United to sell Di Maria and bring in Gareth Bale

Manchester United set to sell Angel Di Maria AND bring in Gareth Bale

Angel Di Maria could be on his way out of Manchester United after just one season.

Di Maria and his family have failed to settle in Manchester following his record-breaking £59.7million move from Real Madrid last summer. And that could pave the way for United to offload the under-performing Argentina star, with Paris St Germain keen to sign Di Maria.

But United are likely to have to take a hit of around £10m on the 27-year-old, with PSG unlikely to offer what the Reds paid to bring him to Old Trafford.

While Di Maria's form has deserted him on the field, off the field he and his family also have issues, following an attempted break-in at their Cheshire home. Di Maria's wife has refused to return to the property which has been put on the market for £4.1 million, amid suggestions the player will seek a transfer this summer after a solitary and unsuccessful year in England.

PSG tried to sign Di Maria last summer but the move fell through when they were hit with a £49m spending cap by UEFA for breaking financial fair play rules. But the French champions are ready to revive their interest in Di Maria, with United readying themselves for a summer bid.

United remain keen on Gareth Bale and are monitoring his situation at Real Madrid, ahead of a potential move for the £85m star this summer.

Bale has endured a difficult second season at the Bernabeu and United will look to exploit the situation if they are given sufficient encouragement the 25-year-old is available.
