A man has been arraigned in court for raping his 12-year-old daughter and threatening to kill her.
The accused who was identified as Mathews Akhoya Chitechi , allegedly committed the offence within Pangani area on August 4.
According to court documents, the minor’s mother had travelled upcountry, leaving the accused with their children.
It is reported that at around 10pm on the material day, Chitechi sneaked into the girl’s room and carried her to his bed. It is alleged that she woke up minutes later only to find her dad caressing her body prompting her to scream, but kept quiet after he threatened to stab her with a kitchen knife.
The girl told police that the accused defiled her for more than an hour, and then inserted his fingers into her before taking her back to her bed.
It is alleged that Chitechi threatened to kill her if she revealed what happened. But the girl is said to have told a neighbour about what happened who later reported the matter to police.
Chitechi denied the incest charges and was released on a Sh300,000 bail. The matter will be mentioned on September 5.
