Governor Mandago throws weight behind NASA candidate

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi endorsing Langas Ward ODM candidate Charles Okumu.

Two days after National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders endorsed Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago of Jubilee Party against his main rival, Zedekiah Kiprop 'Buzeki', the county boss has returned the same favour.

Mandago on Friday in an unprecedented move asked residents of Langas Ward in the outskirts of Eldoret town to vote in for an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate, an affiliate of NASA coalition.

On Thursday while on a tour of Uasin Gishu NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga's running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, pleaded with the area residents to give Mandago another five-year term.

NASA co-principals Senator Moses Wetang'ula, Governor Isaac Ruto and NASA national campaign chairman Musalia Mudavadi also endorsed Mandago for another term as the crowd praised the team amid shouts of "Mandago!"

Speaking during a rally in Langas estate, Mandago who was accompanied by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi publicly backed the opposition MCA hopeful Charles Okumu, as he distanced himself from claims that he favours people from one community.

The area is represented by the current Langas Member of County Assembly Francis Muya, who clinched the Jubilee Party ticket.
