Haitian hip hop recording artist, musician, actor Wyclef Jean has been in Kenya for a few days thanks to the Coke Studio projects. With memorable musical hits thanks to his affiliation to the “Fugees” musical group which included him, Pras Michael and Lauryn Hill, Jean then left the group to purse a solo musical career in 1997 and has received several Grammies so far.
In his stay here in Kenya, Jean got to meet Kenyan celebrities and Budha Blaze who has been working with the project broke the news that he is set to work with Rabbit Kaka Sungura in collaboration. “Kenyan rapper #Rabbit meets with #WyclefJean & working on music together.
And last night’s affirmation by Rabbit set the news to rest when he said.
“Studio time with @wyclef waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait for it!!!”
However last evening was yet another great day for Wyclef who was set to have dinner at State House. This was perhaps thanks to his political side. Because following his activities in Haiti, Wyclef confirmed the rumors that he was running for office on 5th August 2010.
His bid for candidacy was however rejected because he did not meet the residency requirement of having lived in Haiti for five years before the November 28 election.
Fast forward and Wyclef is back to doing music. Last night he got to meet celebrities including Muthoni the drummer queen, and Blinky Bill and we can only wait to see what the artistes worked on.
