Kenya hotel chain Kempinski Olare Mara wins in continental luxury awards

The Kempinski Hotels in Kenya have received three awards at the recently concluded continental World Luxury Hotel Awards Ceremony in Cape Town.

Olare Mara Kempinski in the Masai Mara won the Luxury Tented Safari Camp and Luxury Wildlife Resort, 2014 awards, while the Nairobi-based Villa Rosa Kempinksi was awarded the Luxury City Hotel, 2014.

“We are delighted that our guests continue to recognise us on the world map of luxury. We thank them for their support and we will continue to aim for nothing short of the best for people who expect excellence and value individuality,” said Manish Nambiar, Kempinski’s general manager.

Each of the 12 tents in Olare Mara is furnished with four-poster or twin beds, outdoor and indoor showers with oversized, old-fashioned clawfoot bathtubs and a teak deck spread over 800 square feet. One of the tents features its own plunge pool, and is popular with honeymooners.

The 200-room Villa Rosa Kempinksi in Westlands is a fusion of European luxury and Kenyan hospitality, and is popular with business and leisure travellers.

Established in 2006, the event recognises worldwide luxury and service excellence in the hotel industry. Over 1,000 hotels from 145 countries were nominated to participate.
