Players speak out on heightened political temperatures

Players in the ailing tourism industry at the Coast have appealed to both the Government and the opposition to tone down their political utterances.

“We are currently at crossroads. Insecurity has reached alarming levels. Our economy is under attack from adverse travel advisories issued by key source markets that have seen international arrivals plummet,’’ Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers (Kahc) Coast branch CEO, Sam Ikwaye said.

Ikwaye said that Kenya has a history of low occupancy during election time owing to perceived violence where visitors tend to keep away for a long time.
