TRUELY 2016 KCSE RESULTS DON'T REFLECT THE TRUE GRADES OF THE STUDENTS

To begin with, my name is Adi and am too a victim of the KCSE results. I am sure you will all agree with me that the current KCSE results came as a great shock and a surprise to parents and the students.

My question is; Do you believe that those results are truly the reflection of Kenya's hard working students? Well, you tell me after reading this.

First and foremost, markers were pressurized during the marking and apparently there was no order in the way the exam was marked.

The markers were forced by situations to produce 'raw results' which was subjected to proper statistical analysis. We should put in mind that these exams are meant to usher student to the next level and not a "permanent barrier" to restrict them from "crossing over" the bridge to higher education.

Secondly, you will all agree with me that the current KCSE marking time and release date has been unique and completely different from previous years. The change of time is not the issue here.

The duration of the marking date and the release date is quite shocking and this raised a red flag the citizen who questioned the credibility in the marking of the exam.As a student, I have doubts if the right thing was done.

Lastly, We are in an era of technological advancement and each step we take as Kenyans should mean a step forward and not strides that will lead us to turn backward. I can't say the steps taken by our examination council was meant to take us steps forward.

They caused more harm than good. Fellow Kenyan. We can't ignore the impact these results will have on our "future-Kenya". We should be on our feet for a more devastating society as half our youth are crowned with Ds and Es. This should tell you that Kenya's security level should be questioned.

So, tell me. Will this not affect our future Kenya or not? Am just being a citizen who is concerned with our youth. Nobody should misunderstand me.

I am not saying there is a mediocrity in Kenya's examination council, But what am trying to say is, Before embarking on solving problems, we should first consider questioning whether the solution to the problem we are solving is yet a cause and a tunnel to greater problems.
