Former Manchester United playmaker Dimitar Berbatov could be heading back to England this January.

Premier League could witness the return of Dimitar Berbatov in January, if his wishes come true.

The former Premier League star played for Spurs, Man Utd and Fulham in the Premier League before joining French side AS Monaco then Greek outfit PAOK. 

His longest stint in the Premier League was with Manchester United where he made 108 league appearances and scored 48 goals under legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson between 2008 and 2012.

During that period, the 35-year-old won the league with the Red Devils twice, the League Cup once, the Community Shield once and the FIFA Club World Cup once.

After a disappointing season at PAOK, Berbatov is now considering a move back to England. He told BBC Radio 5 live Sport:

''When you've played in the Premier League you don't want to play anywhere else. In this stage of my career I know where I am - I would happily play for a team where they use my experience and my knowledge. 

''I can help young players develop and make the team stronger. In the end it's all about helping the team play.''

His recent revelation could make him a top transfer target for a number of Premier League clubs struggling to find the back of the net in the first half of the season.
