Football Kenya Federation: Coaching course underway

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Basic/Advanced Basic coaching course entered its second week on Monday, with several grass-root coaches benefiting from the exercise.

The two-week training, which is part of FKF’s vision of promoting football development at the grass-root began on September 26 and will be rolled out consecutively, for the next eight weeks in all FKF branches across the country.

“The venture is part of the federation’s national coaching course rollout program that aims to train over 2000 coaches from all over the country, at the Basic/Advanced Basic level, in the next four years,” FKF CEO Robert Muthomi said.

“The aim is not only to develop grassroots football, but also build capacity by establishing a football master plan that will guarantee long term success of the sport and provide a clear road map that will shape the future of Kenyan football going forward,” added the CEO.

The training is being conducted by over 40 local instructors under the tutelage of FKF’S Technical Director Andreas Spier.
