A man accused of insulting Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has been freed on bond.

Jackson Saruni Tirkolo, 28, was released by Narok Chief Magistrate Wilbroda Juma on a Sh700, 000 bond and a surety of a similar amount or an alternative cash bail of Sh400, 000.

Tirkolo (pictured) was charged that on May 1, 2016 he posted abusive, insulting, threatening and other unprintable words on a Facebook page known as “Elelero e Maa”, contrary to the National Cohesion and Integration Commission Act.

The court however declined Tirkolo’s plea to have his mobile phone and sim card returned to him.

The case will be heard on July 21.
